Q. Favorite Place Traveled and why?
A. Kathmandu, Nepal is my favorite destination. The people are beautiful in every way and so hospitable. As testament to the Nepalese people, we adopted our third child from Nepal. The country had just opened their adoption doors and his mother and I were told that there were many boys up for adoption. We already had two biological daughters, thus our desire for a son. The adoption process was lengthy and required two trips to the country. My son is now 17 years old and I hope to take him there one day soon. Oh, and another reason I love Nepal, the views are spectacular!
Q. Interesting fact about yourself.
A. I spent 38 years in various forms of the travel industry, including a travel agency, airline, travel club and a groups tour company. I’ve had the opportunity to travel the world and experience many cultures. While working for the travel club and groups tour company, I had the opportunity to escort many leisure and corporate groups. I loved that aspect of my job because it allowed me the opportunity to get out of the office and be face-to-face with our customers.
Q. Who or what shaped you as who you are today?
A. I have to say that my parents were a huge influence. They were both raised in small Indiana towns and had strong values. My dad was a mechanic by trade and my mom stayed home until my brother and I were in high school. Some of the things that I still remember and use today are: treat everyone with kindness and respect, the customer is always right, and take responsibility for your actions.
Q. What do you enjoy most about your job?
A. I recently joined Worley Erhart-Graves Financial Advisors in November so everything is new. I do love working with people and exceeding their expectations. My goal is that each client receives personal and prompt attention.
